The Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs (SMESA) announced today that an upgraded version of the Legal Consulting Service Website for Small and Medium Enterprises will officially launch on January 1, 2026. The platform brings together 155 SME Honorary Legal Advisors to provide real-time online consultation services, assisting enterprises in enhancing legal awareness, strengthening corporate governance, and improving business management practices-giving business owners greater peace of mind. Since the Honorary Legal Advisor system was established 20 years ago, the service has provided over 25,000 consultations on issues ranging from business operations and contract disputes to equity, intellectual property, and personal data protection. The professional legal advice offered by the honorary lawyers nationwide serves as a valuable resource for small and medium-sized enterprises in their decision-making.
SMESA stated that it will continue to enhance the Honorary Legal Advisor system and expand digital tools such as the website's dedicated Legal Q&A section, where users can search key expert responses from previous consultations. The website also features short videos providing quick overviews of legal topics, enhancing legal support for businesses at different stages of development. Through the Honorary Legal Advisor system, small and medium-sized enterprises can typically receive professional legal advice within two to three days of submitting an inquiry, supporting informed decision-making and strengthening competitiveness.
